English Open quarter-finals: four routes into the last four
Ding Junhui, Ali Carter, Shaun Murphy and Mark J Williams came through the English Open quarter-finals in Brentwood.
Two clear wins and two deciders
Ding Junhui beat Kyren Wilson 6–2 and Mark J Williams defeated Liam Davies 6–3. The other two quarter-finals went to deciding frames: Ali Carter edged Zhou Yuelong 6–5 and Shaun Murphy beat Judd Trump by the same score.
Those results created semi-finals between Ding and Carter, and between Murphy and Williams. The tournament’s longer matches begin at this stage, with six frames required to win a semi-final.
Why the result page matters
A tournament calendar tells a reader when an event is taking place; the score snapshot explains how its final weekend is developing. We update the event page only after a source marks a match complete, and show the check time beside the results.
Session times remain subject to organiser changes. The linked event source is the reference if a spectator is travelling or needs a more recent update than the timestamp shown on this site.
